I have a Sony Vaio VGN-N250e laptop, and I am trying to hook up to my tv, but so far I only see a black screen?

i want to be able to display what is on my laptop to my tv using an s-video and rca vga adapter cable, but all i have accomplished so far is a black screen on my tv...please help

as soon as you connect your laptop to the tv trying pressing Fn and F8.. this should show what you ahve on the laptop in the TV as it is... i have a sony vaio and this is what i do...

if htis is not working... right click on the desktop.. goto properties..in display tab.. change the settings.. this should help you...
