What is the difference between the Dell Inspiron and XPS desktop models?

We're about to buy one of these, but we are not sure we need. Family will be used for student computer, Internet, music and movies. We have games with little or no needs. We have narrowed down the Inspiron 530 and XPS 630. Both can come with the same amount of memory and hard disk space, so what is the difference between them? XPS is the fastest or best performance? And if so, why? Thank you very much!

Another seems to be the main difference is that the XPS 630 can be configured to use 2 video cards. With 2 graphics cards in SLI video games can be played on most modern chassis per second (softer). The XPS 630 can also be configured to use graphics cards upscale directly from Dell. For example, the Inspiron 530 can be configured with an Nvidia 8600GT, while the XPS 630 can be configured with a 8800GT. The XPS 630 has the potential to play games and better graphics-programs intensive, but apart from that both systems do the job you're looking pretty good.
