Is my LCD screen on my laptop to explode?

I have a Toshiba laptop I bought in 2006 by a 17-inch LCD screen. And now when I open my laptop screen suddenly turns blue or white to have normal regular red dots everywhere. I need to close the main the computer screen from computer to normal air. Is it my screen or about to burst? How do I solve this problem? Thank you!

It may simply be a wave-son short-circuited. If this is the case, would have to dismantle the laptop and either replace or reposition the cable that connects the screen to the motherboard. LCD screens typically last more than 2 years.
