Accessory ports power turns off when the key is removed?

Does anyone have a suggestion to retain power, the power port when you remove the key? Or how can I install another port that connects directly to the battery / fuse panel? I found that I can run my accessories (aka my laptop), more time off the battery with less trouble if I leave off and thus eliminate everything else in the car is off - but want a better way to connect the cable "jumper" plug adapter style and the extension to battery terminals. This is a 06 Hyundai ... the fuse box next to the driver board behind the driver's door.
