Does anyone else have problems connecting an IMac computer to the internet. I have now tried four ISP's who al
I have tried Tiscali, who I have been with for years using Windiws. But the finally said they didn't have the right software. Then "3" a new co. who said they could connect me, charged in advance, and failed completely. Then Axis.telecom. who again sasid they could, but were unable to connect the Mac, but the Windows version worked. Am now trying Vodafone as they have connected up my laptop, with the mobile modem works fine, but very slow. It took 22hours to update my operating programme. This is silly. so I want broadband on the desk top Mac. No luck so far. Any suggestions ?
Any decent broadband company will be able to connect to the Mac. The internet connection is no different, their servers don't have to have anything special to be able to connect.
For broadband, you can try DSL from your local phone company, (ATT is near me, for instance) or your local cable company. If Verizon's FiOS is available in your area, that would be something to investigate as well.
Once you have your broadband set up, you'll want a router to share it between more than one computer. I have this one from Linksys that I've been happy with:

Hope this helps.
