Change CCFL and inverter?

I use laptop Compaq Presario M2000, a few days before his presentation was very ugly and your screen is small and dark images, text, video etc are not displayed correctly. Some lines are also narrow vertical on the screen LCD. My friend told me that this problem may be due to a defective inverter or CCFL. Please help me confirm the problem.
