A backpack for laptop can be used as a backpack each day of school?

I Targus 15.4 Notebook Backpack groove to. I used to carry my laptop, but I was wondering if it would be strong enough to carry around books and supplies all day. I put a small laptop, small manual, booklet, notebook, supplies, food, paper and a bottle of water in it. Currently I have a bag LL Bean back, but it seems a little too bulky for me.
