UF capacitor voltages with the same?

I have a circuit board with 2 10v 1000uF capacitors jumped, and let leak their electrolyte, but I do not find these anywhere locally, only online, someone said I could use a capacitor voltage higher, provided they have the same number of Farad. So 2 35V capacitors 1000uF work if it fits in the hole? BTW it on a PCB to drive an LCD monitor from Dell. Thank you

The electrolytic capacitors to burst generally not without reason. Possible reasons could include: - Old Age (How many years old is the computer) - failure of other components, so "out of specification - the default Manufacturing electrolyte layer. Assuming you tested the interconnected components to ensure that there are causes as the wind, or "out requirements specification, then it is always advisable to replace all the component values with original design specification. As for capacitors, Electrolytic capacitors are not as forgiving as no electrolytic capacitors as disks, ceramics, silver, mica, epoxy, caps, etc.. Electrolytic perishable due to situations of tension and polarity reversal. Also, electrolyte (due to the composition of the electrolyte) needs to function in the ballpark of 80% of job stress.
