Why LCD desktop using an inverter for driving the backlight?

Investors seem to have a failure rate high, and many people just throw the entire screen when all that's missing is the inverter module driving the fluorescent back lights Why used by investors when the AC power source is always available for a desktop LCD screen. Fluorescent lights in rooms just use reliable transformer. I guess I'm wondering why a standard 'tube hot cathode fluorescent, transformer and the launcher can not be used. Sounds as it is because you must be able to adjust the brightness of the backlight.

I can not think of a couple of possible reasons: 1. Flashing - Standard Tube Fluorescent Light Flashes at 60 Hz and its power. In general, it is not noticeable in lighting environments, but on a computer screen, would probably cause very strange problems with moving pictures. With the investor would receive a backlight without flicker. 2. Standards - added investors, manufacturers can use the same screen for a laptop, which is necessary to work on battery. There is therefore no need for a tool with different power, which helps limit the cost.
