Best Laptop for College? Mac/Acer/Lenovo/Panasonic/Dell/Asus?
I am a high school senior that will be graduating this year (2008) and starting college in the fall. My parents got me a laptop this year and let me pick out which one that I want to get. I found a great deal on an Acer computer, loaded with everything that I want (250GB Hard Drive, 2GB RAM, Windows Vista Home Premium, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, CD and DVD Burner, and a Intel Core 2 Duo (1.66 GHz) CPU) for $769.99 at Circuit City. I am also looking very seriously at the Apple MacBook (refurbished for around $1000). I am open to any suggestions for a good college computer but especially anyone with experience with a MacBook or an Acer. The Acer is a great deal but if it will not hold up then I think I am better off spending a couple hundred extra on something that is going to last longer. Don't tell me how much Mac or PC sucks...I don't care unless you have an educated reason to back it up! Answers, Suggestions, Experience, Recommendations? Thanks! =)
If you are in the market, then you'll want to find the best laptop computer for you. Note that last phrase "for you" because it is a critical part of the purchase process. Too often people interpret "best" in the wrong way - most expensive, slickest, fastest, or state-of-the-artYou should also be sure you truly need a laptop and, if so, whether it will be your only machine. If most of your work will be done on a desk top machine and you only need a laptop when traveling, you should be able to keep your costs down. But, if it's going to be the machine you do everything on, you will likely have to spend more.
Working in technology is difficult when working in the field, spending time on the road or are simply a type of left, they believe have designed several devices today for those who need more disk high technology.
