gericom t920 19inch lcd monitor . inverter not powering ccfl's. any clues to which components faulty?

power monitor off/on data is displayed momentarily, which suggests high voltage to ccfl's is faulty.

I don't have a positive answer for you unfortunately but we have a Gericom T920 with the exact same fault (picture flashes up when first turned on, then disappears)

For some weeks before it failed, it was very "iffy" about displaying a picture - would only do so once it had been left turned on for five or ten minutes. I presume as you say some component was progressively failing and has now died.

We contacted Gericom via their UK service phone number 0845 0311 788, but we can't find the receipt to check guarantee, and we don't feel it's worth 40 euros courier + repair charges to return it to them to look at it. If it is repairable, I'd like to know too !
