Help! My laptop screen went black!?
I have a Dell Latitude, about 3 years old. It worked fine one day, went to turn it on the next day and the screen was very dark. I can just barely see any icons. I hooked it up to an external monitor and all works fine that way. How do I figure out what the problem is myself? How would I be able to tell if it's the inverter, or the backlight, etc.?
This is a problem with the internal light. Before you go connecting your cash with a new screen light. open it up and check the connections are all pushed home> Repeated opening and closing the screen does tend to loosen the connection and it will fail. Do that first, close up and then boot up.
The light should be good for up to 8 years of near constant use.
