Weird LCD Monitor Problems?

I'm having weird LCD monitor problems lately. It started 2 weeks ago (on a Monday) when I turned on my computer. I switch the power button and I waited for few seconds (the monitor should turn on instantly) then I realized it's just black. Here is something weird, the computer works normally (except the monitor not turning on). Here is something even weirder, there are times where the monitor will turn on then sometimes it won't but 75% of the time, it really won't.

I restart my computer usually 3-5 times and then the monitor will turn on. But it gets really annoying as it's been 16 days I'm having this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2

Computer:
Intel (R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
3.00 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

i had that problem too, after installing an ssd into my system.
what i did was i finally got all of the windows updates every one of them took forever with that problem, and i noticed nvidia drivers to be buggy, so i took and downloaded the beta nvidia drivers.
and things started to work.
also i researched a bunch of ssd tweaks.
dunno which one worked, im guessing either finally getting all of the windows updates or the nvidia beta driver. i think it was the beta driver that helped.
